This Privacy Policy applies to the Permanent Clipboard website and the Permanent Clipboard browser extension.

Permanent Clipboard is a clipboard and reusable-text tool. Its main purpose is to let you save text, organize it, and use it again later. Because of that, the product may handle the text you choose to save as well as certain clipboard-related information needed to provide its features.

The extension may handle text and related information that you choose to save, organize, edit, import, export, copy, or restore, including:

Clipboard-related and page-related text

To provide clipboard features, the extension may detect or process text you copy in the browser and text you explicitly choose to save from a page. This may include recently copied text, selected text, or text inserted through the extension's popup or context-menu features.

Technical and usage information

We may collect limited technical and usage information needed to run, secure, and improve the product. This may include product version, browser or device context, feature interactions, diagnostic events, and error information.

Where Information Is Stored

Depending on the features you use, information may be stored locally in your browser, in browser-provided synchronized storage, or in files you export yourself as backups.

If you use browser sync features, your data may also be processed or stored by the browser provider under its own terms and privacy practices.

Backup files you export are under your control. You are responsible for storing them safely.

Optional remote storage is not currently a general public feature. If remote storage is introduced later, this policy will be updated before general rollout. Any remote storage, if offered in the future, should be treated as a convenience feature rather than a guaranteed archive; users remain responsible for keeping their own backups, and we cannot guarantee against loss, corruption, or unavailability of remotely stored data.

Sharing and Disclosure

We may share information only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, analyze, or improve Permanent Clipboard, including with service providers, infrastructure providers, analytics providers, or browser/platform providers involved in the features you use.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our rights, to address fraud or security issues, or to protect users, the public, or the Service.

Outside of the product features you use and the limited operational disclosures described above, we do not intentionally share the text you save with unrelated third parties.

Analytics and Diagnostics

Permanent Clipboard may use limited analytics and diagnostic tools to understand product usage, monitor reliability, and investigate errors. These tools are intended to be operational in nature.

At this time, the extension may send limited usage and diagnostic events to Google Analytics. These events are intended to help measure product usage and stability, not to publish or resell the text you save.

You should avoid using the product to store highly sensitive information unless you are comfortable with the risks associated with browser-based clipboard and storage features.

Retention

Saved snippets and related content may remain available until you delete them, uninstall the extension, clear the relevant browser storage, or overwrite them through sync, restore, or other storage actions.

We take reasonable steps to protect information handled by Permanent Clipboard. However, no method of transmission, browser storage, synchronization, or remote storage is completely secure or fully free from failure.
